Andy had a quick but important monologue today. He had some specific questions about Ed ‘The Leaker’ Snowden. For instance, why did he choose a foreign journalist? Andy also played some voicemails from you guys that came in last night and even played our first show montage! Yay! He welcomed Wayne Root to discuss the NSA leak, the differentiation of scandals, the Obama culture of incompetence, and Bradley Manning. Andy took a TON of your calls.
After a TON of your calls, Ryan Mauro called in to analyze the media misinformation about the Snowden situation. He also spoke about the decision to seek refuge in Hong Kong and discussed with Andy why people see this guy as a hero. Andy took a TON MORE of your calls.
Drew Findling joined Andy to talk about the charges that Ed Snowden will face back when he returns back to the United States. Also, they talked about whether Google or Yahoo have a case against the mainstream media for lying about their business deals and government requests. We’ve all read and heard that Google, Yahoo, and even Facebook give full access to information which is factually untrue. Andy took a few more calls but was able to squeeze me in for Bizarre News. I told two stories: a woman stabbed her boyfriend to death with her stiletto, and an inmate put a secret ingredient in a special salad.
Another big news week starting Monday with a bang! Andy did a full monologue on Ed ‘The Leaker’ Snowden and spoke about how Ed is factually wrong about how the Patriot Act works. It’s evident that Ed is a fan of Bradley Manning and that they’re both traitors. Andy used a familiar model to analyze this issue. He broke it down into a ‘Let’s Make a Deal’ style format. Behind Door #1 are the Conservatives giving the government the benefit of the doubt when it comes to fighting Muslim terrorists. Behind Door #2 are Libertarians who value liberty over security so much that they prefer to live in a pre 9/11 world. Finally, behind Door #3 are Liberals trusting Big Government and believing that terrorists must be dealt with using compassion. Andy welcomed his favorite debate partner, Justin Leto, to discuss the NSA leaks under guise of stopping terrorism, the trust of the government, and classifying Ed Snowden as a traitor. Your calls were mixed into the hour long debate.
Former Covert CIA Officer, Mike Baker, joined Andy to give his perspective on the NSA PRISM program and how Ed Snowden even had such a high level security clearance. Mike also went into the logistics behind apprehending Snowden in Hong Kong and the steps that would need to be taken to get this case into court. Andy took a lot of your calls.
Mercedes Schlapp called in to discussed the separation between politics and security, the fear factor of government intrusion, using data mining to stop terror attacks, and using technology and military to backup the constitution. Andy closed the show with a lot more of your phone calls.
Andy’s monologue today was analysis of the Top 5 Stories of the Day. He spoke about the last victim of the Boston Bombing finally being released from the hospital 50 days after the attack. Chris Christie officially set the date for a special election. Andy also reported on a disability fraudster that got busted after appearing on The Price is Right. The Top Story of the Day however, was the case of the IRS being guilty of committing political sabotage by giving confidential conservative tax information to rival liberal groups. The Department of Justice has not acted on these felonies. Drew Findling called in for legal analysis of that case among the other major legal cases of the day. They spoke about the Colorado Movie Theater shooter, James Holmes, not guilty by insanity plea being accepted by the presiding judge. They also analyzed a case where a man has child pornography on his computer and whether he can be forced to decrypt his hard drives or if he can plead the 5th amendment.
I joined Andy in studio for a full Bizarre News segment. We talked about the photo that made the rounds online yesterday of the Taco Bell employee licking the shells and what is going to happen to him, a car salesman giving up half a year’s salary to speak to President Obama for two minutes, an NBA player being hauled into court because he didn’t fulfill his promise to a blackmailer, and yet another airport coke bust! Andy welcomed Janet E. Johnson to speak on some other major legal cases including the Fort Hood shooter’s trial and his plans to defend himself in court. They also discussed a fascinating case out of Mississippi where a woman has been charged with manslaughter after she gave birth to a stillborn baby. She’s admitted to using crystal meth while knowing she was pregnant, Andy and Janet speculated the outcome of the case.
Programming Note: Andy is out the rest of the week and Bryan Suits will be filling in for him. He joined us in the last hour of the show today to update us on the trial on Bradley Manning, the protests in Turkey, and why Secretary of State John Kerry is going back to the Middle East. Andy closed the show with your calls – I’m sorry for calling Sean Parker a douche even though he is!
Andy did a quick hit from the Content Grill which included a poem (?) about Anthony Weiner at an Israel rally. I can’t even go into it here – just watch the video. Also on the Content Grill was the IRS spending on lavish conferences and Michael Douglas’ strange admission about how he thinks he may have developed throat cancer. Andy quickly got to Justin Leto with the hot story of the day – the Supreme Court ruled in favor of acquiring DNA samples of arrestees. They debated the value of this system against the preservation of civil liberties. They went back and forth on this for the full first hour with your calls mixed in. I happen to side with Andy on this – I see it as no different than a mugshot and a fingerprint.
Mike Walker called to totally change gears. They spoke about how John Edwards has broken the big promise that he made to his wife while she was dying. John is moving his mistress, Rielle Hunter, into the home that he shared with Elizabeth and their children. Mike also talked about how Bill Clinton is the frontrunner to host the Oscars next year. I came in studio for a quick Bizarre News where I reported on a Senator accused of using campaign funds to buy porn, Vice President Biden canceled his annual beach party for journalists, and a rescue mission for yet another person lost after going over a waterfall. Political analyst, Mercedes Schlapp, joined in to discuss the backroom deal made to have Bill Clinton speak at the DNC convention, how Geraldo Rivera is interested in taking the vacant Senate seat in New Jersey, and a further discussion surrounding the IRS conference controversy.
Andy welcomed Dr. Mitch for his medical segment where they analyzed whether Michael Douglas’ claims about his cancer were legitimate and actually linked to HPV. They also brought up an odd case where 26 year old fraternal twin sisters both had strokes within a few weeks of each other. Andy and Dr. Mitch got into the different kinds of strokes and why this is becoming more common for young people. Andy closed the show with your calls.
Andy did a quick Content Grill before getting right into his first guest. He played audio from an MSNBC show where a guest compared Eric Holder to Moses, wtf? He also talked about the new Will Smith movie, After Earth, coming out tonight and the scathing reviews it’s getting – could this be the worst movie ever made? Our favorite business analyst, Matt DeBord, called in to talk about the 200 point stock market drop today. Also, ObamaCare prices were released today and premiums are skyrocketing! I came in studio for Bizarre News Part 1 where we talked about a brawl over spilled juice at a kindergarten graduation ceremony, justice for the Zumba Prostitute, and the new smoking policy at Starbucks.
Producer Michelle joined Andy early for her Entertainment Report. They previewed the movies coming out tonight: After Earth and Now You See Me. Truthfully, neither look that interesting. They also talked about a bizarre murder investigation involving Dan Aykroyd, Philip Seymour Hoffman revelaed that he just left rehab and two more judges quit American Idol. Meteorologist Ken Clark called in to give Andy the latest news on the new set of Oklahoma tornados as well as speak about the asteroid that came close to Earth today. I came back in studio for Bizarre News Part 2 and spoke about a boy who found $10,000 in a hotel room, the engagement of Peru’s most famous inmate, and a gravedigger that killed his wife only to bury her in the cemetery that employs him.
Author of The Great Convergence, Kishore Mahbubani, called in from Singapore to discuss the success of capitalism around the world and why capitalism should be the only system on our plant. He also spoke about how foreign aid money does more harm than good. Intern Tricia joined Andy in the studio to say goodbye and give her farewell interview. I know I’m not supposed to play favorites, but Tricia is the best. I would give her a job tomorrow if I could! Andy closed the show with and interview with testosterone expert Dr. Jeffry Life. Have an amazing weekend!
