Today, Andy starts the show by making fun of Chris Matthews for his blunders on Jeopardy. His Video Monologue is entitled Obama's Secret Meeting and in it he explains Obama's complicated and very secret love affair with Wall Street. If they hate each other so much, why does 75% of all of Wall Street's donations go to the Democratic Party? Andy says "Obama and Wall Street have a common love -- the love of borrowed money." Andy takes your calls about Obama. Professional stockbroker Chris Russo joins Andy to talk about Wall Street regulation, the ins and outs of the Facebook IPO, and Greece's $900 million withdrawal. Later in the hour, Andy talks about President Obama's new campaign ad labeling Mitt Romney as a "job destroyer."
Peter Goelz, former head of the National Transportation Safety Board, comes on to talk about the airport security guard supervisor who was working under a false identity. They also explain why TSA is not being too intrusive as some people are whining about. I loved Andy's point:
"I mean if people think it's intrusive, what happens in an airport, just picture yourself on American Airlines Flight 11 or United 175 or Flight 93 or Flight 77, and then you'll understand what 'intrusive' is."
Beautifully said. That's right! I'm happy to be patted down! Wait that sounds wrong... We can't all be so eloquent, Andy! Moving on. I join Andy in the studio for a minute to tell everyone to read this very blog and welcome you to email me with any advice questions you may have. We've gotten some good ones so far! Ask me a question and I may read it over the air with Andy. michelle@americanowradio.com. Next, Dr. Daniel Amen calls in to talk about his book Use Your Brain to Change Your Age and the NFL head trauma lawsuits. Miranda comes in studio to read the Bizarre News of the day! A man dies from a heart attack while receiving a lap dance (a plus for that dancer's résumé??), a man shoots his friend by accident, and another man shoots his friend on purpose. [shakes head]
Tuesdays with Mitch! Tuesday's with Mitch! Constitutional attorney Mitch Langberg joins Andy to argue about the Dog Custody Battle, the soup burn victim, and jury misconduct. And to wrap up the show Andy welcomes one of his favorite gals, Wendy Feldman. She fills us in on Blago's visit with his wife and whether or not he's making any friends. She also gives a John Edwards update and briefly touches on George Zimmerman's medical documentation.
That's it for today! Hope you enjoyed this recap. Til tomorrow.
Yours,
Producer Michelle
